Micellar Water :  Garnier vs Simple

I love using Micellar water not only to remove my makeup, but to also cleanse my face when I’m in a pinch.

Micellar water is a very gentle way to remove makeup and cleanse because it doesn’t contain any harsh ingredients.  This is a great product to use if you have sensitive skin, because it is fragrance, oil, and alcohol free.  It won’t burn your eyes!

I have been using the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water for awhile now, and I even featured it in my 2015 Best Of Beauty.  I think I am on my 5th or 6th bottle of it, and you can purchase it from any drugstore for about $7 for 6.7 oz.  I love this so much because I can remove all of my makeup and there is no oily residue left behind.  I also don’t need to worry about washing my face after, because it doesn’t require rinsing.  I usually do wash my face with cleanser after, but on the days or nights when I’m tired, I know I can just soak a cotton pad in this, swipe it over my face, and go to bed without worrying about my skin breaking out.

Recently, Garnier brought out their version of the product, Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water.  You can find this product in drugstores for around $8 for 13.5 oz.  This product is pretty much the exact same.  It’s a clear liquid in a clear bottle.  After using this for awhile, I feel like they are very similar.  Both products remove all of my makeup, they don’t feel oily, and they haven’t made me breakout.

Which one will I choose to repurchase from now on?  Well, I’ve gotta say the Garnier one for the fact that you are getting about double the product for $1 more than the Simple one.  Both products work the same, but you do get more bang for your buck with the Garnier.

Have you tried these out?

xx, amy

  1. Such a great comparison–I love the Simple version for all the reasons you mentioned, but I’ve been wanting to try out the Garnier version since Lauren Curtis mentioned in almost a year ago(?) in her videos. Can’t wait to try it out now!
